An update from My Town's Little Dentist
In an abundance of caution we have made the difficult decision to close our offices to non essential and non urgent care. We have decided to follow the recommendation of other state dental societies and our dental colleges around the globe. We will only be seeing patients for emergencies. Messages will be checked routinely and, as always, a doctor is on call. We hope that this situation will resolve itself in short order. We are committed to the continued safety and well being of our community and team members. We will be re-evaluating this situation as it develops and will be cancelling one week at a time. Dental health is directly related to overall health and we look forward to taking care of your family as soon as it is safe to do so.
As a pediatric office we have always prided ourselves on cleanliness and providing the gold standard of sterilization.
We have always sterilized our instruments above what is recommended by OSHA and the CDC.
As of now all of our offices remain open but some may have modified hours. Should we be asked to close or modify hours we will inform you. A doctor, as always, remains on call.
In the recent climate we have increased our cleaning and sterilization of common areas as guided by the CDC, Our primary goal has always been to protect our patients and their families and team members from all communicable illnesses.
We have removed all games and toys from all waiting areas, this includes video games.
Common and staff areas are being disinfected every two hours or more.
We have removed the toys from the prize box and will be handing a chosen prize directly to each child.
We are going to minimize our team's physical contact right now with patients and families, so we have asked our team members not to shake hands or hug.
We respectfully ask that any person who enters the office waiting room wash hands in the bathroom or in tooth brushing station.
To safeguard our patients and staff please notify us if you or your child (or any other household member) is experiencing flu-like symptoms or has recently traveled out of the country. We will gladly reschedule your appointment for a later date. We are committed to keeping our patients and staff healthy. Cancel you child's appt if your family have been exposed to the virus in the last 14 days or if the patient or family member has a fever .
We will continue to monitor the situation and update as needed. Please call with questions as they arise.
